Michael J. Crowley of Melrose died on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Tufts Medical Center of Boston after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 36 years old. Born on January 12, 1976, he was the middle son of Paul C. & Janina D. (Bobyk) Crowley of Melrose. Mike was raised in Melrose and a 1994 graduate of Melrose High School where he was a member of the Marching Band. He attended two years at Cornell University and one year at Suffolk University where he studied Engineering before working as an IT Consultant for Cap World's Main Office here in Melrose. He was a resident of Melrose his entire life and a member of St. Mary's Church of Melrose; serving as an Alter Boy and working in the Rectory with Father Little. Mike was known by many as "Count Blockula" because he was a Master Builder, Tester and Designer for Lego Bricks. Mike had his own web-site and helped build a replica of the Manchester Textile Mills of New Hampshire. An undertaking that took two and a half years to complete. He was the caring brother of Mark C. Crowley & his wife Suanna of Medford & Robert P. Crowley & his wife Kathleen of Saugus. Cherished Uncle of Caroline, Evelyn, Jackson & Tyler. Nephew of Mary Francil & her husband James of N. Weymouth, Cousin of Julie Waldmyer & her husband Ralph of Holbrook. Godfather of Dylan & Laci Waldmyer & best friend of James Biggie & his wife Ann of Salem. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Monday, January 14th at 9AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Mary's Church Herbert St., Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours Sunday from 4-8PM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. Arrangements by The Gately Funeral Home of Melrose.
