William B. "Bill" Martin, of Melrose, died at home on Nov. 30, 2016 at the age of 52. Bill was born in Stoneham, raised in Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1982. He was a lifelong Melrose resident and worked as a Computer Trainer for several years at Americorps & he also volunteered for the Red Cross for over 20 years. Bill was very active at the Melrose Highlands Congregational Church in Melrose and was in the church choir. He enjoyed camping in Bartlett, NH, singing, fishing, Storyland, joking around and going to the library. Bill's family was the most important part of his life. He was the loving son of Marcia E. (Easson) & the late David J. Martin, Jr of Melrose. Caring brother of Lois A. Martin of Melrose, David W. Martin & his wife Betsy and Susan E. Gilman & her husband Chris, all of New Hampshire. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and 1 grand niece. Visiting hours will be held at the Melrose Highlands Congregational Church, 355 Franklin St., Melrose, MA 02176 on Wednesday, Dec. 7th from 10-11AM, followed by a funeral service at 11AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill's name to the Melrose Highlands Congregational Church Remembrance Fund, 355 Franklin St., Melrose, MA 02176.
