Virgilio "Richard" Moscaritolo passed away at the Keene Center Genesis Eldercare in Keene, NH on April 20, 2017. He was 85 years of age. Mr. Moscaritolo was born in East Boston on March 23, 1932 to the late Pasquale & Emmanuella (DiFronzo) Moscaritolo, he was raised in East Boston and graduated from English High School in Boston, Class of 1949. Richard then graduated from New England College of Pharmacy in 1954. After he graduated he joined the US Navy and served his country with pride for two years during the Korean War. Richard worked as a pharmacist for over 50 years. He owned and operated Mahoney Pharmacy in East Boston for 15 years and then worked for CVS and Walgreens Pharmacy. Mr. Moscaritolo lived in Melrose for many years before moving to Keene, NH to be near his daughter two years ago. He loved going to the movies and golfing with his brother Nick, bowling in the local leagues in the Melrose area and watching sports, especially the Red Sox. Richard also enjoyed going ballroom dancing with his close friend Jeanette Cerulli. He was a member of the Melrose Knights of Columbus and was very thankful for the assistance he received from the Melrose Veteran's Officer Ryan McLean. But above all he was very proud of his only grandson Benjamin. Mr. Moscaritolo was the loving father of Kara Stoning & her husband Brian of Langdon NH. Proud grandfather of Benjamin Stoning. Former husband of Beatrice Natale. Caring brother of the late Nick Moscaritolo & his late wife Yola and the late Pamela Pepe & her late husband Alexander. Dear close friend of Jeanette Cerulli. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday April 28, 2017 from 4:00-7:00PM. Funeral from the funeral home on Saturday morning at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St. Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden will be private.
