Susan (Lykogiannis) Georgantas, of Melrose
On August 26th, 1972, our grandfather passed away. On August 25th, he came to retrieve his love. With 103 years behind her, our grandmother represented so many things. She was not only full of class and sophistication, but she possessed a courage that we couldn't even fathom. To put all her faith into her husband and to take the two-week journey to the US via boat to start a new family, a new life, and to leave everything behind, is unthinkable. They grew a life together with an original type of entrepreneurial spirit and achieved the true meaning of the American dream.

And even with them being apart for the last 47 years, she lived her life as if they were still together. She portrayed what true marital bond is. Never fading and never forgotten.

But what has been most special to us, was being able to live vicariously through her, the values and ideals of a time we always fantasized through her black and white photographs. Of a time we could never touch, but always felt a part of. All these things and so many more made us proud to be Greek, American and most importantly, Georgantas. May her legacy live on. REST IN PEACE Susan Georgantas January 8, 1916 - August 25, 2019.

Susan was the beloved wife of the late Peter L. Georgantas. Loving mother of Kay J. Diamantas & her late husband Harry of Andover and Louis P. Georgantas & his wife Katerina of Belmont. Cherished grandmother (Yiayia) of Susan, Nicole, Peter, and Melina. Great grandmother Marc, Stelliana, Stavros, Zoe, Isabelle and Nerine. Caring sister of KiKi Kelly of GA and the late Dimitrios Lykogiannis, Voula Lavda, Petros Lykogiannis, Stella Argyropoulos and Theodoros Lykogiannis. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, August 30, 2019 from 4-7PM.
