Raymond E. Macone, Jr., of Malden, died unexpectedly on Nov. 26, 2018 at the age of 58. Ray was born in Boston, raised in Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1978. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Technical & Scientific Communication from Northeastern University, Class of 1997. Ray worked as a Web Specialist for Commonwealth Automobile Reinsurers for over 30 years. He enjoyed going on golf trips to Arizona with his friends and spending time at the family cottage in Plymouth. Ray loved to travel to Nashville, New Orleans, Punta Cana & Siesta Keys and his family was the most important part of his life. Ray was the beloved husband of Leah E. (Floyd) Macone. Loving step-father of Maggie, Alexander & Betsy Coughlin. Devoted son of the late Raymond, Sr. & Marion (Lima) Macone. Caring brother of Linda Sinopoli & her husband Paul of Dalton, MA & Diane Selecman & her husband David of Burke, VA. Uncle of Alison & Mark Sinopoli of Pittsfield, MA & Michelle & Andrea Selecman of Burke, VA. Great uncle of Myah of Pittsfield, MA. Also survived by relatives & friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 from 3-7PM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
