Neil J. Daly passed away at Beth Israel Hospital on July 20, 2019. He was 51 years of age. Neil was born in Boston, raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High school, Class of 1986. He was a lifelong resident of Melrose and had just recently moved to Malden. Neil was a 2nd generation member of the Plumbers Union Local #12 and worked as a union plumber for many years on numerous projects in Boston and the local area. He spent many years summering on Frye Island on Lake Sebago in Maine, playing football in the water with his boys and friends. Neil loved entertaining and cooking for friends and family, enjoyed a cold beer, a glass of tequila and going out to eat at his favorite restaurant the 621 Grill in Malden. Mr. Daly was a longtime New England Patriots fan and Boston sports fan. Neil was the former husband of Paula B. (Fogarty) Daly of Melrose and San Diego, CA. Father of Patrick J. Daly and Michael F. Daly of Melrose. Son of Regina A. "Sue" (Williams) Daly of Melrose and the late Cornelius "Neil" Daly. Companion of Molly McCutcheon of Malden. Also survived by many close family members and friends. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday, July 26, 2019 from 2:00-5:00PM and on Saturday morning July 27th from 9:00-11:00AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00AM. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Toys for Tots, 45 Palmer St. Lowell, MA 01852 or the Northeast Animal Shelter 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970.
