MaryLou (Shelton) McCarthy, a resident of Wilmington Massachusetts, passed away on December 21, 2017. MaryLou was born in Melrose Massachusetts to the late John P. Shelton and Eleanor (Culinane) Adams. MaryLou was raised and graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1968, and Chamberlayne Junior College with an Associate degree in accounting. MaryLou worked in accounting departments for such companies as Office Specialist and Randstad. MaryLou had a passion for animals and along with her husband Chris owned many dogs from bull mastiffs to her final dog, a Chihuahua. MaryLou was predeceased in death by her husband, Christopher, her father, John P. Shelton, mother, Eleanor L Adams and sister Nancy. MaryLou is survived by her brother John and his wife Sandra of Wakefield, nephew John Shelton and his wife Colleen of Wakefield Ma., niece Allison Wright of Marshfield Ma., nephew Andrew Shelton and his wife Christine of Wilmington Ma., nephew Benjamin Dempsey of Jacksonville Fl. and niece Victoria Rothey of Tampa Fl. MaryLou is also survived by many grandnieces and grandnephews. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home on Thursday, December 28th at 10:00AM followed by an interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose on December 28, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend.
