Mary Ursela (McCoy) Pizzella entered eternal life on January 10, 2018. Mary was born and raised in East Boston. She attended Girls High and graduated in 1943. Her early working years brought her to The Institution for Savings in Boston where she met and married her husband of 43 years, the late Francis Dominic Pizzella. They settled in Somerville where Mary was a homemaker and caregiver to senior members on both sides of the family and generations of beloved beagles. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed hosting holiday parties and entertaining at "the camp" in New Hampshire. In her later years Mary resided at the SUNRISE community in Lynnfield. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Francis D. Pizzella. Caring daughter of the late Peter F. McCoy and Mary (Maguire) McCoy O'Brien & her late husband Frank O'Brien. Loving sister of the late Helen R. Ballard and LT Francis J. McCoy USAF. Cherished aunt of Anne Langton & the Langton Family of Melrose as well as numerous other loving nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 9:00-10:15AM. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 758 Salem St. Lynnfield at 11:00AM. Interment at Newton Cemetery in Newton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to The Little Sisters of the Poor, 186 Highland Ave., Somerville, MA 02143, a charity close to Mary's heart.
