Mary Elizabeth "Liz" (Burke) Saulnier passed away at the Fitch Home in Melrose on April 20, 2017. She was 99 years of age. Liz was born in Reading, Massachusetts on May, 30, 1917, she was raised in Nova Scotia, lived in Chelsea for over 60 years and the last 3 years in Melrose. Mrs. Saulnier worked for many years at the General Electric Plant in Lynn. Liz was very active at St. Rose Church and the senior activities in Chelsea prior to moving to Melrose. She loved to crochet, was very good at scrabble, enjoyed board games, playing cards and cribbage. Liz was the beloved wife of the late Norman Saulnier. Loving sister of Marie Celeste Lynch of Melrose and the late Nelson & Ulysse Bourque. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces & grand nephews. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 9:00AM-10:00AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, 9 Herbert St. Melrose at 10:30AM. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Liz's name to the Fitch Home, 75 Lake Ave, Melrose, MA 02176.
