John J. Sylvain, of Saugus, formerly of Melrose, died at the Tufts Medical Center in Boston on April 25, 2017 at the age of 48. John was born in Saugus, raised in Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1987. He resided in Melrose for many years and the past 3 years in Saugus. John worked as a Mover for Doucette Moving Co. in Reading and was a former member of the Saugus Elks Club. He enjoyed fishing, working with his hands and building computers. John was a very loving person who would always help others and would do anything for anyone. John's family was the most important part of his life. He was the loving son of Robert & Kathleen (Faragi) Sylvain of Saugus. Caring brother of Robert A. Sylvain & his wife Rosemarie of NH and the late James W. Sylvain. Also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews relatives & many friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Monday, May 1st from 4:00-7:00 PM. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 2nd at 8:45 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10 AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Riverside Cemetery, Saugus.
