Frank W. Maher, Jr., 73, of Woburn passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, following a lengthy illness. Husband of Judy (Fitzgerald) Maher with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.

Frank was born January 18, 1947 in Hartford, CT, son of the late Francis W. Maher, Sr. and the late Rita (Donovan) Huff. He was a resident of Woburn for the past 5 years. He grew up in Glastonbury, CT and was a graduate of Glastonbury High School. He went on to further his education and earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Frank was an electrical engineer for many years in Connecticut. He worked at Pratt & Whitney and Perkin Elmer, where he was awarded 4 patents. He was an accomplished musician and an avid sailor. He loved reading and UConn basketball. What he loved most, was spending time with his family.

In addition to his loving wife Judy, Frank is survived by his two sons Stephen F. Maher and his wife Maureen of Melrose and James M. Maher and his wife Theresa of Worthington, OH. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Brendan, Ryan, Liam, Sean, Cecilia and Kilian. He was the caring brother of Maureen Alexander and her husband, Dennis and the late MaryBeth Angell and her husband James.

Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 2:00-5:00 PM. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ss. Isidore and Maria at St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St. Glastonbury, CT on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middletown, CT. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations in Frank's memory may be made to the Care Dimensions Hospice House, 125 Winter St. Lincoln, MA 01773.
