Dorothy L. (Kelley) Scarborough, of Wells, ME, formerly of Melrose, passed away at the Sutton Hill Center in North Andover on Sept. 28, 2019 at the age of 89. Dot was born in Worcester, raised in Holden and Cincinnati, OH and a graduate of North College Hill High School. She resided in Melrose for 30 years and Wells, ME for over 25 years. Dot worked as a Secretary for Flowtron in Malden for many years and later worked at the Kittery Maine Recreation department for nearly 10 years and enjoyed spending time volunteering for Easter Seals. Dot loved dogs, cats, seals and also enjoyed reading, taking walks on the beach, movies and traveling to England and Disneyworld. She vacationed with her family at Moody Beach, Wells, ME for over 50 years. Dot loved spending time with her family & lifelong friends. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the most important part of her life. She was the loving mother of Gary Scarborough & his wife Deborah of Lynnfield, Kris Scarborough & his wife Patricia of Andover and Kai Foley & her husband Kevin of N. Andover. Former wife of the late Dana L. Scarborough. Caring sister of the late Rev. Donald Kelley. Cherished grandmother of Eric, Ryan, Dana, Aubrey, John, Sean, Lauren and Marc. Great grandmother of Charlotte, Arya, Cameron and Arthur. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 from 9-11AM, followed by Funeral Service at 11AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private.
