Denise (MacDonald) Barbagallo passed away at her home in Saugus on April 30, 2019. She was only 55 years of age. Denise was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School in 1981. She lived in Peabody for 10 years and the past 4 years in Saugus. Mrs. Barbagallo was a homemaker who also worked for several years at Winchester Hospital as a massage therapist. Denise loved going to her beach house in Florida, watching the turtles laying their eggs at night or going kayaking around the islands with the dolphins & manatees. She also enjoyed riding her bike. Denise loved traveling all over the world with her husband Sal, taking trips to Bora Bora, Europe, Istanbul, Greece as well as numerous other beautiful places in the world. She was the beloved wife of Sal Barbagallo. Loving mother to Brittany, Lindsey and Bobby. Cherished daughter of Ed MacDonald and the late Teresa (Aubin) MacDonald. Caring sister of Michael MacDonald, Marc MacDonald and his wife Teresa, Michelle Coye & her husband Mike, Marybeth MacDonald, and Kevin MacDonald. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on Friday, May 3, 2019 from 4:00-8:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St., Melrose, on Saturday, May 4th at 10:00AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. Flowers may be sent or a donation may be made in Denise's name to Melrose Wakefield Healthcare, c/o Fund Development Department, 585 Lebanon St. Melrose, MA 02176 or @ www.melrosewakefield.org/giving.
