Claire M. (Hightower) Donaldson, of Melrose, died unexpectedly on April 14, 2018 at the age of 63. Claire is remembered for her generosity and selfless willingness to help those in need. She loved spending time with her granddaughters and taking lots of pictures at family gatherings to mark each special occasion. She was passionate about her work at Spaulding Rehab and was always excited about meeting new fellows and doctors from different parts of the world, who quickly became close friends. In her spare time, Claire enjoyed listening to music and NPR and finding the next great book. Claire will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Claire was the loving mother of Sarah E. Ortins & her husband Brian & Andrew J. Donaldson & his wife Kathryn, all of Beverly. Cherished grandmother of Caroline, Samantha and Abigail. Caring sister of Francis Hightower of NH, Robert Hightower, Ellen Hightower, both of MA and Marylee Davidson of NH. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Sunday, April 22nd from 1-5PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home on Monday, April 23rd at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, 300 1st Ave., Charlestown, MA 02129.
