Catherine D. (Gove) White, of Saugus, died peacefully at the age of 84 on September 27, 2017 surrounded by family. Catherine was born in Provincetown, MA on November 7, 1932 to George & Frances (Abate) Gove. She was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School. Catherine moved to Saugus in 1955 with her late husband Thomas to raise their family, and she lived there ever since. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved spending time at the family camp in Barrington NH, as well as taking trips to Race Point Lighthouse on Cape Cod where her dad was stationed. Family was everything to Catherine and she will be greatly missed by them all. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas C. White. Loving mother of Thomas G. White & his wife Lori of Medford, John A. White & his longtime companion Mary Trahan of Loveland, OH, James M. White & his wife Dolores of Saugus, and Cathy A. White of Saugus. Devoted grandmother of Thomas & his wife Tami, Brian & his wife Jessica, Christopher, Janelle, Jennifer & her husband Matthew, Amanda, Sarah, Michael, and Matthew. Proud great-grandmother of Anthony, Savannah, Jaxson, Josephina, and Matthew. Also survived by her beloved grand-dogs Sophie & Van. Visiting Hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, on Fri., Sept., 29, 2017 from 4-8 PM. Funeral Procession from the Gately Funeral Home on Sat., Sept., 30, 2017 at 9 AM followed by a 10 AM Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer St., Saugus. Entombment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Last Hope K9 Rescue at
