Condolence & Memory Journal

It is with great sadness that I write this. I am so sorry and send very big hugs to my friend in Heaven, that is where we will meet again, I am sure. Our friendship will be like we hadn't lost a minute of time. Our laughs will be as robust as they have always been, and our hugs will be a tight as always. Love you Shirl

We are so very sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. She was so full of joy and good humor. We have many memories of Shirley's enthusiasm, cheering from the sidelines at soccer games years ago. She was talented and generous, and the life of every party. Mike, Derek, and Josh, we will keep you in our prayers as you grieve the loss of this wonderful woman who loved you so much.

Posted by corey blakley    April 17, 2020

How do you put into words a lifetime of love and memories that she provided to us..
It is so very difficult.
Mike, thank you for taking such excellent care of Shirley, you were her rock. Joshua and Derek, she loves you beyond words..
Hopefully she is playing Yahtze, feasting on an endless supply of crab legs, Sadie, Duncan and Eddie keeping her company, partying with Lin and Johnny and the rest of the Rossi clan.
Love to you all.

Auntie Shirley (as I knew you through Janaelle), such a force in this life. A true fighter of epic battles. You were loved by so many. I always enjoyed your hugs and laughs, and dancing to music with you of course. I hope you are resting now in complete joy. You will be missed.

Shirley was always a kind and considerate person; a pleasure to know and work with. I had the good fortune to know her. I was one of the lucky ones. She will be missed.

My condolences and prayers to the family I am heartbroken to hear this. My memories of Shirley are all so wonderful, from our days working at Cerretani's to working at the City together. I still have the adorable overalls and jacket Shirley painted with my daughter's favorite Sesame St. characters over 25 years ago. I will never forget you and how you made me laugh.
Rest in peace my friend.

I enjoyed working with Shirley for over 15 years. I admired her strong will and quick wit. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. May she now find peace and freedom from this terrible disease. I wish the family comfort in knowing how much Shirley touched my life and that of others.

Mike, Derek, & Josh,
We were so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. Having first met her shortly after meeting Linda and the Binaris back in 1974, I will always remember the fun times we all had, whether going out to nightclubs in the 70's or being invited to family gatherings on Cottage St. Shirley & Linda must be having one heck of a reunion in Heaven where we all hope to be reunited with them someday. With sadness, but also joy in fond memories and love, we wish you peace and comfort.

I will always remember her and the great times we had, whether it be on soccer or baseball fields. As a boy scout leader Shirley was so very talented! Heaven has gained another angel. Rest easy Shirley, love you!

Dear Mike, Derek, Sarah, Josh, & Melissa:
I am so terribly saddened to hear of the passing of Shirley. She was truly one of my very closest and best friends. She was a bright light taken much too soon but was a strong warrior and fought hard through this horrible disease. We all have such wonderful memories of our two week Summer vacations, for several years, at York Beach, Maine. Memories that we will cherish always. Funny memory is that we lived right across the street from one another ~ the people who we rented Cottage #2 & #3 from, each year would always laugh and couldn't understand why we'd want to spend Summer vacation together. Truly, back in those days we did hardly see each other though. This Pandemic has made this loss even more difficult because I want so badly to embrace all of you instead of being 6 ft. physically apart. Please accept our deepest sympathies & condolences during this trying time and if there is ANYTHING that we can do for you, please reach out and we'll be right there for you.
Shirl, I miss you so very much already, but although I miss you so very much that my heart aches; I am also glad that you no longer have to suffer and that you are no longer in any pain. We were always there for one another with a shoulder to cry on or a quick listening ear ~ a great recipe for the special friendship that we shared. Even though you spent most of these past months either in hospitals or rehab; we still managed to squeeze in some special times together and spent hours at my home ~ "couch time" we called it ~ talking about our lives and still sharing about our kids. I am/was so grateful to have you as my friend and am even more blessed that God chose you for me. As I always left my texts to you, I LOVE Fly high and Soar with the Angels, my dear sweet friend and RIP and enjoy Easter with your loved ones in Heaven. Please give Mr. & Mrs. B. a huge hug from us.

with LOVE and in FAITH,
Ingrid (& Jimmy too)

Dear Mike, Derek,Josh and all of the D,Amato family,
We are so saddened to hear of Shirley's passsing. We go back with Mike and Shirley as a couple, from the day they started dating. We have so many wonderful memories of those days, including being in their wedding. We had many game nights ,listening to oldies, with Shirley calling to request Connie Stevens songs. We also had a couple of memorable trips and lots of laughs. We don't know anyone who endured so much in her life as Shirley did. She is now at peace and we will always remember Shirley and smile!

My heart goes out to Mike, Derek and Josh and all Shirley's extended family. She was a wonderful unique person who I watched for years be the most positive encouraging cheerleader for our boys soccer teams. She will be missed by many.
