Tribute & Message From The Family

Douglas M. Tarlow Of Melrose, died unexpectedly on January 1 at age 63. Beloved husband of Deborah (Clarke) Tarlow, father of Mark Tarlow and his wife, Lauren, and David Tarlow and his fiancé, Liz. Douglas was the son Sherwood (Woody) Tarlow and Hilda Tarlow. Doug's extended family included numerous half-siblings, cousins, his brothers-in law Rick, Roy and Scott and their families, and many, many friends from across the area, all of whom were blessed to have Doug in their lives. Douglas was born in Everett, MA and raised in Newton, MA where he attended both public and private school. Doug graduated high school from Newman Prep in Boston and attended classes at Northwestern University, studying accounting and history. Doug worked at Capitol Bank and eventually found a career with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an IT specialist focused on welfare training.

Doug was the friend everyone wanted to have, the person everyone gravitated to, laughed with and leaned on. His strength, character, integrity and compassion were always evident, but it was his wisdom, kindness, candor and sense of humor that were his most profound and important traits. His love for his extended family and his friends was true, deep and was always the most important thing in his life.

A fervid Patriots and Red Sox fan, Doug attended games on a regular basis, watched every game of the season and had an avid interest in history, current events, movies, sports, books, golf, and music.

A celebration of his life will be held at Temple Beth Shalom in Melrose, MA on Monday, January 6 at 11:00 a.m. Shiva will be observed On Monday from 2-7 PM and on Tuesday from 2-7 PM at Doug's home.
