Gertrude M. (Leuci) Jodrey passed away at her home in Largo Florida on July 3, 2017. She was 82 years of age. Gert was born in Chelsea on March 12,1935, she was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School. Mrs. Jodrey lived in Melrose for over 40 years before moving to Florida 14 years ago. Gertrude worked for many years for the B&M Railroad and Amtrak as a telephone operator, bridge operator and as a clerk administrator for over 25 years. She was also very active with the railroad union. Gert was also a longtime member and Past President of the Emblem Club at the Melrose Elks Lodge. Mrs. Jodrey was the beloved wife of Arthur S. Jodrey of FL. Loving mother of Charles W. Jodrey, Arthur W. Jodrey & his wife Kathleen, all of FL, Peter W. Jodrey of NH, Michele R. Paone & her husband Vincent of Melrose and Anna Maria Ross & her husband Richard of Haverhill. Cherished grandmother of Dylan, Derek, Nichole, Paul, Andrea and Theresa. Caring sister of William Leuci & his late wife Janet of Saugus, Elaine Leuci of Chelmsford, Rita Treadwell & her husband Huey of MD and Mildred Demarco & her husband Ronald of Marlboro. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Monday, July 10th from 4-8PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 11th at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 02472.

She was an integral part of our fun summers vacationing in Maine on "the Pond" So much fun and such a simpler time.

My heartfelt sympathies to all of you (Arthur, jChuck, Artie ,Peter, Michele, and Anna)
I will miss my many calls to her. I loved her very much and although I know she is in a better place and out of pain It still doesn't seem real.

My long-time memories of Gertie are happy family gatherings around bountiful tables
