With deepest sorrow and a heavy heart, we share the news that Zachary (Zach) Ryan Marks, age 22, our beloved son, brother, father, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020. For those whose lives were touched by Zach, if even for a short amount of time, have lost a shining, bright light in their lives.
Zach was born July 11, 1997 in Boston, he is the son of Albert Tischler and Cynthia Marks and is the younger brother and best friend to Jacob Marks of Malden. Zach is survived by his girlfriend, Melissa Boyer, and their daughter, Stella Marks, his proudest achievement. Looking at Stella, the apple does not fall far from the tree. She shares the same smiling eyes and bubbly personality finding the laughter and joy life has to offer.
Zach graduated from Mystic Valley Charter School and was the recipient of the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship. His fearlessness and boundless energy lent its way to a life rich with sports and adventures and possessed the gumption to put himself out there and confront uncomfortable situations head on. At a young age he played soccer, little league baseball and lacrosse. Entering high school and having never played hockey, Zach didn't let that stop him from going out for the school team. Of course, his amazing athleticism landed him on the varsity hockey team and when that season ended, you would find him on the varsity lacrosse field. Living on the east coast allowed him to shred it on his skateboard by traveling to Waterville Valley, NH and Woodward, PA where he connected to a network of friends whose passion for that expression of freedom and fun was shared. Zach's connection to music started at birth. Mom and dad filled their days with music, either through the Bluetooth speaker or he'd hear dad jamming on one of his many instruments. We'd love to share Zach's soundtrack to his life, it can be found on SoundCloud at @Z_ARKS. His love for camping was so intense he felt no tent was required – literally. A passionate foodie, Zach built an impressive collection of hot sauces (the hotter the better), he would never say no to a family buffet and would let the cooks know his favs in the hopes of satiating his appetite for the good life and full belly. The birth of his daughter, Stella, sharpened his natural eye for photography and he quickly perfected the daddy's little girl selfie. Zach's talents never stopped making themselves known and he recently discovered a knack for carpentry. Being a dad came naturally, and after welcoming Stella into the world, the Boyer Family welcomed Zach into their family with open arms and hearts.
Zach will be missed everyday by his family, Al, Cindy, Jacob, Missy and Stella. His Grandparents, Paul and his wife Sharon of Cleveland, OH and Esther Tischler and her husband Dennis of Cleveland, OH along with many loving Aunts and Uncles, Katie (Kiki) Marks-Legassie and Chuck of Canton, MA, Peggy and Mike Pucillo of Braintree, MA, Debbie and Paul Marks of Cleveland, OH and Kim Tischer of Cleveland, OH, Mike Tischler of Cleveland, OH and his amazing cousins, Luke and John Pucillo of Braintree, Adelay, Scarlet, Hayden and Harley of Cleveland, OH whom Zach loved more than we can say.
Due to the new directive from the State of Massachusetts and the Massachusetts Funeral Director Association and all the current health concerns visitation, funeral services and the interment will all be private. A celebration of life may be planned for a later date. Please feel free to send a card to family members, drop a card at the funeral home for the family or send a message of online condolence.
In lieu of flowers, the family will be setting up a fund for his young daughter Stella Marks. More information will follow as soon as the fund is set up.

May you see God's light on the path ahead
When the road you walk is dark.
May you always hear,
Even in your hour of sorrow,
The gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard may hardness
Never turn your heart to stone,
May you always remember
when the shadows fall—
You do not walk alone.
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!
May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.
Love, JNK xxoo

Dear Cindy and Al,
Words from family and friends are ever so important. I always enjoyed have Zach here when he came to visit and stay at Aunt Debbie and Uncle Paul's. He was always so pleasant and kinds when he stopped at my place.
I know how special he was to Adelay, Scarlet, Hayden and Harley. They always talked about how they kept in touch with him and how much they loved him and I could tell he loved them

Cindy and Al, and all of the extended Marks family, I am so sorry for what you are going through. No parent should have to bury a child. Zach was taken far too soon. The days ahead will be difficult. Know that your friends near and far are praying daily for healing and peace for all of you as you lay Zach to rest.

Marks family,
I am sending all my love to you at this impossible time.
The Summer I spent in Cleveland with all the family was so much fun, laughing along with Zach's hilarious nature.
Praying for you all, and his beautiful baby girl.
All my love from Australia.

Thinking of all of you and Zachary today. I remember the summer cookouts at the house and him as a little boy. He was always so cute. I recall he used to follow me around when he was real small. I don't know why that sticks in my mind. He had a big heart and I know the love all his cousins and family had for him will continue to let him live on through stories and memories. I attached a few photos to a post from a recent cookout in Ohio. Love to all. ♥
