My father and mother (Dick and Fran Almeida) had what I would call a very good friendship with your parents for many years. Your father's picture on the obituary notice, is exactly as I remember him. On behalf of my five brothers and two sisters, please accept our deepest condolences.

In today's world, where we are all connected, it is easy to stay in touch with your loved ones when you move away from home.
But in 1989, when I moved to Boston for what was supposed to be an 18-month exchange, this was not the casethere were not even cell phones or internetthe cheapest way to stay connected was via old fashion letters! A phone call to Buenos Aires was about $2/minuteprohibitive for a recently moved-in senior.
However, given the hospitality

However, given the hospitality of my Bostonian friends, I felt at home quickly I felt I found a second home in Beantown
A great part of this was because of my friend Frankwe met in one of our audits and we became friends instantlyI learnt a lot from him working togetherbut even more as I spent time with him and his family over the years
We remained close friends even after he retired
We played tennis with his kids and in-laws (primarily Bob and Anne, but many others came throughout the years). I introduced him to some of my dear friends who also came to play.
While in Boston, we shared many, many eventsfamily celebrations, birthdaysI had the pleasure of treating him and Mary (and my mom, who was visiting) to a Frank Sinatra concert to celebrate their wedding anniversary! Every Saturday I was in town, we played tennis (at Bob's in the summer, indoors in the winter). Plus, the two of us played singles once a week whenever busy season allowed me to do so
I left Boston in 2000, but we stayed in touch. Every visit I made, we always played tennis followed by lunch with him and Mary. I made it to their 50 year wedding anniversary, participated in John Francis' first communion (one of his 14 grandchildren) and had a lovely lunch with them before I got married
I always received Christmas cards and birthday cards from them
I had the pleasure of introducing my kids to them when we were in town in Augustit was such a nice momentthe pictures reflect the happiness Frank and Mary had to spend time with usthis picture is framed and proudly
