To the entire Schmidt Family,

We are so sorry for the passing of your mom. We have some of the fondest memories of our childhood spent together. I remember one time the ladies, Alice, Alma, Margie and Lorraine were taking a trip up to New Found Lake. Alice was driving the boat - Lincoln Town car. Watching these woman preparing for their journey was hysterical and a little unsettling. As they were pulling out of the driveway, I thought to myself

Alice is my dear mother in law, I am the wife of her deceased son Robert.I can only say, she was the best mother in law anyone could ever ask for,as well as the sweetest woman on earth. I loved her dearly, and I thank the Schmidt family for their kindness to me, God Bless the entire family!

My dear Schmidt family,

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. Aunt Alice was an amazing woman, and I always enjoyed visiting with her up the lake. She will be tremendously missed. I wish that I could be there for you in person to give each of you a warm and loving hug. Until that time, please know that you all continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Love,
Kim

We all loved the Schmidt family, Alice especially. Growing up, we spent many weekends with them. Alice was my mother's best friend and that friendship lasted a lifetime, even though we moved to California. Alice was a real lady. That special kind of lady that is rare. She was kind, happy and thoughtful. She loved her family and was very proud of her children. Someone very special is gone from us, but I will never forget her. My condolences to the Schmidt kids, especially. Know that we love you and wish you every blessing.

Dear Heidi,
Your mom was such a beautiful woman inside and out. Such a lady at all times. I have many fond memories of our younger days with you, Linda your siblings, friends and your family on the lake. Your mom was so generous and kind and always made us girls feel like family. All my love to you and you family during this difficult time.

Alice was my mother's best friend all throughout her life. Alice was like a second mother to me. Growing up was always an adventure at Newfound Lake. When Alice and Ed finally opened their cottage at Holiday Hill, my parents were gifted their cottage at Nuttings Beach. Every Saturday we made the trip to Holiday Hill. It was a wonderful time to grow up, from the clam bakes, the building parties, and the talent contests. Sending time there was wonderful.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Alice and your dad were a part of our sweet memories growing up as children at Newfound Lake including all the fun hotel trips with the Hawaii 78 Club. We can still hear Alice's voice calling our names.
We were always welcomed at your mom and dad's house. Alice never minded a hundred kids running in and out. Who can forget the "pig roasts?" Plenty of food, drink and Elvis Presley
