I am so sorry to hear about Rita. She was such a kind hearted, cheerful lady. For so many years she was the face of the YMCA, greeting people with a smile and personal touch. Your family was blessed to have such a great lady as your mom. My thoughts are with you.
Whit and I were sorry we couldn't be there but we were thinking of you.

For so many years, Rita was such an ever constant figure in the front lobby of the YMCA. I was one of the many young mothers struggling to get my kids into the building, dealing with their dropped coats and mittens, spilled cheerios, etc. and would be met by Rita's encouraging, supportive and humorous perspective and wisdom in regard to parenting...always with a kind word and a smile! Rita, thank you for being a bright spot on those days when

Rita was a wonderful woman who sat at the front desk at the Melrose YMCA and greeted people as they entered. She was a kind and loving woman who knew everyone who walked through the door. If she didn't know them she would be so kind and inviting to new members.
My children and I have fond memories of Rita and all that she did to make our time at the YMCA enjoyable.
She was loved by all.
Rita will be missed.
Sending the family deepest sympathy.
Lovingly,
Paula Emelock and family
