Dear Brogan Family, I just learned about Jeff's passing after reading the posting on Whittemore's front window. I was surprised and very saddened to read that Jeff passed away. I was one of those customers referenced in the notice & we always had friendly conversation about a broad range of subjects: sports, biking, Melrose, gardening, etc. I am grateful I became acquainted with your beloved Jeff Brogan & he was a good person with a positive outlook in life. I am sorry for your loss and may Jeff rest in peace.

My job requires a lot of keys, and I have spent a lot of time at the Whittemore over the years, copying keys. Getting a chance to chat with Jeff as he made my keys was always a highlight of the day! Always so friendly and enthusiastic, his love of life was inspiring. As I continue to get my keys copied at Whittemore in the future, I will always be thinking of Jeff, and feel lucky to have shared in a little bit of his life.

I have lived in Melrose the past four years and have been graced many, many times by Jeff's presence and genuine conversation at Whittemore's. My knowledge on home improvement is virtually useless, which I am sure Jeff quickly learned!

Like everyone who has learned about this terrible news, I am in shock and send my deepest prayers & condolences to the Brogan family. On that note, my most recent extended conversation with Jeff took place last summer. I was a wreck

It was always a pleasure to see Jeff at the hardware store and around Melrose. May he rest in Heaven's Peace. Our prayers and sympathy.

I cannot believe Jeff is no longer with us. I started going to Whitemore two years ago, when I wanted to save money and refresh my kitchen cabinets. Jeff and Arthur taught me all I needed to know. Then went back to Jeff to learn about sanding radiator covers, grouting tile....

I was just in the store the day before he died, picking up more products. I had no idea I would never see him again.

He always made time to explain,

Bro! We all grieve from your passing. A piece has been taken from all of us. Brett said it best, Uncle Jeff liked to play (invent) games. He was a lot of fun to go on vacation with. You will be sorely missed. God bless you and your immediate family. We all grieve together. We hope that someday we are all reunited in heaven and perhaps play some more.
Love,
Noel, Nancy, Brett, Lauren, and Melanie (and family)

I'm so sorry to hear about Jeff. I didn't know him well, but I often spoke to him when he was chatting to Harald. I lived across from Harald on Lincoln Street. He was a great help always. He'll be missed.
